Things I build and run in my spare time: a homelab and tools for managing a media library.
Convertr
Scans a Plex library and converts or re-encodes the files that need it so they direct-play on TVs, streaming sticks, Plex Web and mobile.
- FFmpeg with NVIDIA NVENC or CPU x265
- Preview the plan before converting; each file verified before it is swapped in
- Originals kept in a holding folder with Undo
- Cleans metadata and keeps file timestamps
Convertr_svc
The Linux / web edition of Convertr: runs as a service on a headless server and is operated from a web page.
- Intel Arc hardware encoding (VAAPI/QSV) or CPU x265
- Scan, plan, queue with progress, pause/stop and undo
- Same safety model: verify, keep only if smaller, never delete originals
- Tested on Ubuntu 24.04
Renamr Plus
A portable app that renames and organizes movie and TV libraries into clean, consistent names using TMDB and TheTVDB.
- Scan first as a dry run, review, then apply
- Handles subtitles and sidecar files and season folders
- Undo log for every run; timestamps preserved
- Duplicate and multiple-version handling
